IFS Italia has been founded in 1996 by ifs GmbH, an IT company based in Germany that offered IT systems to utility companies across Europe, and become a privately held Italian company in 2000. These origins and the international experience have defined our business model: “Solution Provider for Utilities”

Anticipating the evolutions of the Italian energy market and subsequent requirements for IT systems, we identify international product partners who offer technologically advanced and functional “best-of-breed” solutions. We support these partners in localizing their products according to Italian regulations and requirements, manage the marketing of the products, as well as the implementation projects and first level support activities.

The close collaboration with our partners offers our customers the advantage of having a single interface for technical and commercial matters. Furthermore, these partnerships between ifs and the vendors on one side and ifs and the customers on the other, guarantee the timely evolution of the products and services according to new requirements of the market and provide our customers with security for the future.

ifs has focused its activities on two primary topics: Energy Management (Energy Consulting, Telemetering, Energy Data Management, Forecasting, Portfolio Optimization, Energy Trading and Risk Management) and Business Process Management (CRM, Communication between Market Operators). Additionally, ifs provides meteorological and financial data via partnerships with global data providers.

Momas System Nigeria Limited was incorporated in 1995 to carry out metering and related services. As the first indigenous metering company that has successfully deployed metering solutions for the Nation’s power utility-Power Holding Company of Nigeria PLC (formerly National Electric Power Authority), Momas Systems’ impact in the Nation’s downstream sector remains unequalled.

Our resolute in expanding the frontier resulted in heavily investment in capacity building and infrastructure years ago and this culminated in the development of the vending application that is STS (standard transfer specification) certified, unarguably, the first of its kind in the Sub-Sahara called ELECTRICITY CONTROL MANAGEMENT INTERFACE (ECMI) and CUSTOMER SALES POINT (CSP). By this vending application, Power utilities would be empowered to interact extensively with customers’ meters via sms on every aspect of power requirements, while the customers would have diverse platforms to recharge their meters and to exchange varied responses with utilities. Simultaneously, Momas Systems has commenced the construction of state of the art meter manufacturing plant, which is expected to be on stream by first quarter of 2012. Momas Systems R&D Department have done extensive research on electronic meters, and with all benefit of hindsight, the meter factory is expected to manufacture meter with almost 75% local content.  In line with acceptable corporate governance, the management of the meter manufacturing plant would be autonomous and would be run under separate management team with a functional board. A firm of consultants have been engaged to come up with requisite corporate norms and ethos for the new entity to be named MOMAS METERS NIGERIA LIMITED and to guide the Company in being listed on the Stock Exchange within three (3) years of operation.
